KT & The Love Notes play beautiful music. Described as "transcendental folk", the Love Notes create a musical landscape that is uplifting, nurturing, fun, and meaningful. Katie Sontag’s (KT) songs range from lighthearted and silly (poking fun at herself as a scatterbrained new mother) to deep and vulnerable (the everyday grief of being human) and often triumphs with an important truth that we all need to be reminded of (including her). Her sweet vibrato pulls the listener into her intimate and truthful songwriting, bringing them into her personal life and connecting deeply with her audience. A seasoned performer, Katie engages the audience with group singing and her endearing stage presence. Her music has been described as “a big hug”. As good folk music does, Katie’s songs create community. Her loyal Love Notes are Jon Brex; a jazz bassist with 10 years playing in New Orleans under his belt, and violinist & harmony singer Maggie Dewar; who everyone can't help but fall in love with. Together, this trio has graced stages all around Oregon, including the Oregon Country Fair (‘18-’25), TedEx Bend (‘18) and all over their hometown of Eugene. Katie has released three self produced albums: Temple Under the Stars (‘18), Still Breathing (‘20) and For the Tender Hearted (‘24). The trio is currently recording their upcoming albums, in between playing shows, and taking care of their 4 year old daughters. Based in Eugene OR, KT & the Love Notes especially love playing house concerts, folk clubs, and festivals.
