Songs for Personal & Collective Healing & Empowerment
Help me fund my next Community Singing Album & Songbook!
“Held” is a collection of 25 songs that are for singing to ourselves and to each other. Songs of healing, earth connection, empowerment, liberation, grief & celebration.
These songs have come through me the last two years of growing into motherhood and musicianhood. My community choir, song gatherings and other touring song spots have been instrumental in the creation of these songs. They have held me through the challenging times that life has provided, and I have seen them hold community members and friends. Now it’s time for them to be recorded and shared in a way that they can spread and continue their good work out in the big world.
Your donation will bring this project to life in its fullest.
With your album and/or songbook pre-order, you’re investing in the healing medicine of this type of singing in the world. YOU will be helping it spread! Who knows whose heart your contribution will touch?
All funds go to local community folks who will make this album better. Since I am doing all my recording at home, all the investments stay local and grow my skills and abilities as a musician and recording engineer, but I can’t do it alone!
I need to print the songbooks and the albums (I print at home with my printer and get albums printed in Salem at Atomic Disc) ~ $1,000 ($200 for 100 CDs, $800 for ink and paper to print 50 songbooks)
I want to hire Maggie Dewar to complete the album & songbook art ~ $400
I want to hire a professional recording engineer to make sure my masters are decent ~ $1000
I need to take time off from gigging 5 days a week to finish the recordings by my deadline ~ $2000
Total Funding I am Seeking: $4400
Although I have already made the bulk of the investment to make this happen (upgrading all my recording equipment including my computer, recording programs, plug-ins, new speakers currently totaling 5k) I need more funds to complete the project.
Truthfully, this crowdfunding is not just about money - it's about not feeling alone in this. I feel SO grateful that after many years of studying over the shoulder of other home recording engineers, I now feel comfortable enough to take the reins, but I am sick of feeling so alone in this!
Come with me on this journey! Whatever you can give, I am so incredibly grateful.
Thank you SO much for contributing!
I am crowdfunding for my next album “Held” & songbook of all the songs.
Come take the journey with me!
