For twelve beautiful days I left my day to day life as a parents and working musician in Eugene, OR and traveled to Ashland & California (various towns) to lead my originals songs in community singing.
I am in awe of the profound affect this experience has had on me. To be given the opportunity to lead in this way is an absolute privilege. For the first time I feel fully grown: finally able to speak with authority about my life's work. Because I believe so wholeheartedly in it. The power of singing, of making music in community, within the safe walls of our bound of trust, like hands holding us ~ it heals us. It bonds us. It reminds us that we belong to each other.
Our world is so isolating. We rarely allow ourselves permission to be silly, to tap into the child inside us. To release the grief we carry. To laugh in the joy of existence. I hope these songs, these experiences, lighten our loads.
We are all music makers and sound creators. We are all singers. We are reclaiming our birthright. We are finding our way back home
