Origin: First written while contemplating a budding relationship and walking while the sunset. The second section came later while cleaning at a job, but feels much more universal in scope. This song has been used in church services and several weddings.
Teaching notes: I find that the A section is much easier to teach than the B section. I teach it call and response once and then cue with the words 1-2 more times then mostly people have gotten it. The B section is awkward to split into call/response sections, so if you come up with a good method please let me know! I find by the end of teaching the B section, I just want to go back to the A section! If all else fails, the ending is easy enough to repeat "may our love grow" and never fails to cultivate loving connection and reverence for the present moment!
